接触角法研究PVC/包覆CaCO3复合材料性能
Study on surface and interface free energy of PVC/encapsulated CaCO3 composites by contact angle technique
【摘要】 在常温下,测定了几种已知表面张力参数的液体与聚氯乙烯(PVC)/包覆CaCO3复合体系间的接触角,计算了粘合功、Harkins铺展系数。结果表明:随着上述两参数的增加,CaCO3颗粒更容易在PVC基体中分散;Molar实验和扫描电子显微镜观察冲击断面,证实了热力学计算结果。
【Abstract】 According to the principle of interfacial design, a kind of light calcium carbonate (L - CaCO3) was encapsulated with ethylene - vinyl acetate - carbon monoxide terpolymer, which was filled into poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) matrix for increasing toughness. The encapsulation obviously improved the adhesion between the calcium carbonate and the PVC, and enhanced impact strength of the filled PVC. The measurements of the contact angle between the liquid having known surface tension parameter and the PVC/ encapsulated CaCO3 composite system were conducted at room temperature. The work of adhesion (WA) and Harkins spreading coefficient ( λLS ) was calculated. The results indicated that the encapsulated calcium carbonate particles could be more easily dispersed in the composites homogeneously when the parameters of WA and λLS were augmented. The result of thermodynamic calculation was confirmed by the Molar experiment and the observation on the impact fracture of the specimen through scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
