【Abstract】 The transmission rate of LANs based on Ethernet protocol is quickly upgrading to 1 Gbit/s and 10 Gbit/s. The demand on the fiber specification will become more stringent. Now, IEEE is establishing the 10 Gbit/s Ethernet standard. This standard will adopt the next generation multimode fiber (NG MMF) as transmission medium. First, this paper outlines the development background of the NG MMF, and then, the concept of NG MMF, the new method for band width measurement of NG MMF and the processes for manufacturing the NG MMF.更多还原
