【Abstract】 Energy security is an important part of economic security of a nation. There are a series of issues and challenges that China is facing. In this paper three sharp ones, i.e. less ability of energy self supporting to meet the need of economic and social development, less energy reserves and irrational mix of energy consumption are proposed.
