【Abstract】 Based on a brief introduction of the potential advantages and the exploitation of natural resources in West China and on an analysis of the challenges encountered in the exploitation of natural resources in the western regions, this paper presents suggestions on developing and utilizing natural resources sensibly, keeping to sustainable development, and converting potential advantages of resources to realistic economic advantages.
