【Abstract】 A new route, e.g. direct melting polycondensation/solid state polymerization, to obtain poly(L-lactic acid) in relatively short time is explored. In this process, effects of various polymerization conditions, i.e., polymerization time, temperature, N 2 flowing rate, and catalyst usage etc on the molecular weight of poly(L-lactic acid) are discussed.
