【Abstract】 Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is newly proposed by IETF, which is to be used for the transport of telecommunication signalling messages over IP network. Describes SCTP, its security and highly efficient transport mechanism and its characteristic that makes it superior to existing protocol such as TCP and UDP, analyzes the delay performance of SCTP comparing with TCP.
