【Abstract】 The methods for mass-cultivation of a marine ciliate, Pseudocohnilembus hargisi were investigated. The results exhibit that the appropriate temperature and medium for population growth were 28℃ and beef extract respectively. The population density of this species can be increased to a very high level (210 000 ind./ml) in several hours when cultivated in the medium of beef extract (density of medium: 3 g/L), and there was little impurity in the medium, but the length of the stable phase of population was short and the quantity of population decreased very quickly. The stable phase of population in the medium of rice extract could last for several days, but the impurity was too much.更多还原
