A rhesus monkey model for Plasmodium falciparum was built by multiple partial replacement transfusion with human blood. In models, the ring forms, trophozoites and schizonts were obsered, but the gametocytes didnt appear. The parasites survived for 13-14 days. The maximum infection rates in 3 models were 8.6%, 6.5% and 5.4% respectively.
