【Abstract】 Vitreoscilla Haemoglobin is a homodimeric hemoglobin from a Gram negative obligate aerobic bacterium Vitreoscilla. The promoter of its gene is transcriptionally regulated by the oxygen concentration of the environment. When the protein expressed in various species of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, it has been shown to enhance growth and production of valuable metabolites.
