【Abstract】 Linguistics directs all processes of multimedia assisted foreign language teaching. Linguistics is the foundation of design in teaching syllabus and textbooks. Linguistics is the language teaching resources and background. Multimedia technology is the technical guarantee of the assistant of teaching for best optimization. Therefore, the software design of CAI for foreign language teaching should be based on modern information technology, mainly according to linguistics, theory of language acquisition, and of foreign language teaching, artificial intelligence as well.
