【Abstract】 The authors present and discuss four modes for language control in literature searching systems, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of natural language and controlled vocabulary searching. An account is given of the index creation for natural language searching in DIALOG system and Web searching engines. Several key researches for improving natural language searching are summarized. The authors believe that information experts ought to fully and efficiently take advantages of the natural language and vocabulary in the retrieval system design. And a combination of natural language and vocabulary searching techniques is strongly recommended to information users.更多还原
