【Abstract】 In recent years, the capacity of the Asian base oil production increased dramatically. The supply of thelubricants is surplus worldwide. The forces to drive the progress of lubricant technology is still existing, consequently,the pace of the lubricant improvement did not retard. The demand started to be over the supply for unconventional baseoils since 2000. However, the market share of API Group Ⅲ base oil is small until 2010, particularly in the domesticmarket, although it has perfect performances compared with conventional base oil. Foreign oil companies have occu-pied 20 percent of the domestic lubricant market. Meanwhile, 80 percent of the middle/high grade engine oils are for-eign brand oils or products blended with imported additive packages. Some additive suppliers have marketed "deducedadditive packages" for enhancing competitive power. It is a unique phenomenon in the lubricant market, and should benoticed closely. No matter how the world’s lubricant market changes, the national lubricant industry must be deve-loped continuously. And it is no doubt that the ability of the domestic R & D for lubricants should be enhanced.更多还原
