【Abstract】 Methods and techniques in China in evaluating maize for resistance to Asian maize borer (AMB), Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée), are presented. These mainly include biological relationship between AMB and maize plants,methods for uniforming artificial infestation in the field, damage rating procedures, and invitro bioassays, to determine categories of resistance or susceptibility. These methods are important and useful in screening efforts to identify potential sources of resistance, utilizing known sources in a resistance improvement program, and evaluating the resistance of new hybrids and transgenic maize.更多还原
