指纹图像方向信息提取方法

【摘要】 介绍了提取指纹图像方向信息的两种算法 :预定方向逼近法和 Rao改进型算法 ,指出了这两种算法的局限性。在此基础上提出了一种新的提取指纹图像方向信息的方法。实验结果表明 ,新方法明显提高了指纹图像方向信息的提取精度 ,在运算速度上也有很大提高

【Abstract】 As far as automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS) is concerned, it is very important to study the directional information of fingerprint image. This paper introduced two methods to extract the directional information of fingerprint image and analyzed the deformations of the extractives. The two methods of the Predefined Direction Approach and the Advanced Rao Approach were widely used in AFIS now. Based on the two methods, a new algorithm was brought up. Compared to the two methods of Predefined Direction Approach and Advanced Rao Approach, the new method can improve the accuracy of directional extraction effectively as well as the speed of calculation. To extract the directional information of a fingerprint image, the new method needs 0 5 second while Predefined Direction Approach needs 1 4 seconds and Advanced Rao Approach needs 0 8 second on the average.
