【Abstract】 It is believed generally that the operating expenses of both catalytic wet oxidation and A/O biological denitrification treating coking wastewater is much higher than conventional biological treatment. The authors of this paper calculated the expenses on the basis of given and experimental data in practical design for a coking plant with capacity of 600 thousand tons of coke per year and concluded that no contrast was presented, the calculated expenses are 25 35, 28 77 and 29 72 RMB per cubic meter of wastewater for conventional biological process, A/O biological denitrification and catalytic wet oxidation respectively.
