【Abstract】 Deng Xiaoping studies in the West started in the 1980s. It reached a peak in the 90s when a large number of academic works and research papers were published with various themes, such as if Deng Xiaoping is a pragmatist, comparative studies of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, Deng Xiaoping’s position in history, et cetera.
