【Abstract】 A new serial modem system is proposed for high speed data transmission on multipath fading ISI channels. In this system, an MLSE DFE is used to reduce the effect of error propagation on the final error probability and enhance the capability of anti interference by combining a decision feedback equalizer with a soft decision Viterbi encoder without increasing the system complexity. The simulation results show that this system achieves an asymptotic gain up to 4.5dB comparing with a direct decision DFE system when there exists a severe ISI and the bit error probability is 10 -4 .更多还原
