【Abstract】 According to the characters of the ocean development and management, and the functions of Geographic Information System, this paper discusses the application prespects of GIS in the ocean field. We can recur to the Geographic Information Systems, using spacial information techniques, network and communication techniques and database management techniques and establish the modern three-dimensional ocean monotoring and management system, with which to monitor, explore and manage oceanic environment and resource. This monotoring and management system can make the ocean management be based on a visual and scientific foundation, and serve more effectively the development of oceanic resources, the monotoring of environment and climate, prevention and mitigation disasters, and the maintenance of national rights and interests.更多还原
