Production of carrier-free 186Re via 186W(d,2n)186Re reaction

【Abstract】 186Re is produced from a reaction induced by 16MeV deuterons on isotopically enriched 186W metal powder target. Carrier-free 186Re saline solution is obtained through a seperation scheme of an alumina column followed by an anion exchange column. The experimental thick-target yield of 186Re is determined to be 19.57TBq/Ah. The isotopic impurities are found to be 186Re(5 × 10-3%) and 184gRe(4.6 ×10-2%).
