【Abstract】 This paper, with an analysis based on a mathematic model in accordance with the theory that the shortest distance between two points on a sphere is the length of the shorter arc on the great circle, leads to the conclusion that, regardless of the earth being either a spheroid or a revolving elliptic spheroid, it saves 4 hours to fly from Beijing to Detroit via the Arctic, compared to the conventional flight with 10 stopovers.更多还原
