【Abstract】 Hydoxysterols were a new type of antitumor substance, but only the water.soluble derivatives displayed potent antitumor activity in “in vivo” test. A novel method was advanced to synthesize hemisuccinates of hydroxysterols, androstane.3β,5α,6β.triol.3.hemisuccinate, androstane.3β,5α,6α.triol.3,6.bishemisuccinate and their sodium salts.
