【Abstract】 In the coming century the welding technique how to meet the requirement of national economic construction is introduced in the paper. This paper has made thoroughgoing discussion on ten aspects, such as iron and steel industry, energy resources, shipbuilding. railway, automobile, aerospace industry, the development tendency of welding technique. the simulation and quantitative control of welding process, the safety evaluation and failure analysis of welding structures, welding education and so on.
