外调制光纤CATV中SBS与MPI的激光器高频微扰抑制理论分析
THEORETICAL ANALYSIS ON LASER DITHERING FOR SBS AND MPI SUPPRESSION IN EXTERNALLY MODULATED OPTICAL FIBER CATV
【摘要】 受激布里渊散射(SBS)与多径干涉噪音(MPI)是光纤AM-CATV 外调制传输系统中主要的非线性现象,本文分析了激光器高频扰动抑制SBS与MPI的原理,导出了扰动对系统SBS阈值提高量及MPI抑制程度的理论公式,通过对扰动引起的激光器频率啁啾及附加强度调制而导致的色散的理论分析与计算,得到了扰动信号频率及幅度的选取原则.
【Abstract】 Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) and excess noise from multi-path interference (MPI) are the main nonlinearity in optical fiber AM CATV externally modulated transmission system.Presented in this paper are the theoretical analysis and calculation on laser dithering for SBS and MPI suppression in optical fiber CATV system.The formula of MPI suppression factor and SBS threshold increased by employing laser dithering are deduced.It has been also analyzed in this paper that the dispersion distortion caused by laser frequency chirping and additional intensity modulation which are the residual products of laser dithering,and therefore the selecting rule of frequency and amplitude of dithering signal are obtained.
