【Abstract】 Based on the modeling methodologies currently available, a hierarchical modeling method is proposed. A new approach referred as a Standardized Petri Net (SPN) is developed. In correspond to the FMS hierarchical structure, the FMS models at different levels such as cells, workstation, and so on are constructed by object-oriented modeling technology. These models are integrated into a united FMS model by the message delivery mechanism.
