【Abstract】 In retrospect to the development of urban mass transit in China, the basic principle and the main mission of PCUMT(the Professional Committee of Urban Mass Transit) is clarified, and some crucial problems raised for urgent solution. The author holds that urban mass transit is the biggest infrastructure project ever seen in history for the public welfare, and a work with strong synthetic characteristics at the same time which deals with a wide range of factors. Because it will bring a far-reaching influence to the urban development, the building of UMT is regarded as a project of vital and lasting importance.更多还原
