MH-Ni电池失效研究
Study on the Fading of MH-Ni Batteries
【摘要】 通过解剖早期失效及寿命终止的电池 ,研究了镍电极膨胀对它的作用与影响。通过SEM、XRD等分析手段研究表明 ,镍电极本身也因膨胀造成整体导电网络的破坏与改变。氢镍电池失效的主要原因是 :负极成分Mn、Al的溶出及在正极上的沉积 ;γ NiOOH及α Ni(OH) 2 的生成 ;电解液的减少与再分配 ;钴的分离与迁移。两电极劣化的共同作用导致氢镍电池的失效。在电池底部加入超强吸水剂可以提高电池大电流放电能力 ,并大大增加了寿命
【Abstract】 s Experiments were carried out to research the influence of the swelling of Ni(OH) 2 electrodes on the early degradation and failure of the batteries. Methods of XRD and SEM were used to study the degradated electrodes. It is showed that Ni(OH) 2 electrode destroy the conducting network of the electrode itself. The main causes of the fading of MH Ni batteries are as follows: (1)Dissolved components from MH electrodes. (2)The swelling of caused by γ NiOOH. (3)The decrease and redistribution of electrolyte. (4)The separation and migration of cobalt. The uneven distribution of additives wasn’t the reason which cause the fading of nickel electrodes. The degradation of both Ni(OH) 2 electrodes and MH electrodes lead to the life termination of the batteries. Super absorb water material under the bottom of battery can enhance the big current discharge ability of battery remarkably.
