【Abstract】 The developmental history and application of magnetostrictive materials are introduced. Their characteristics are compared with those of Pb(Zr,Ti)O 3 piezoelectric (PZT) ceramics. The results of some research on ultraprecise micromoving actuators and optical fiber magnetoelastic sensors conducted in our laboratory are presented.
