【Abstract】 Because of its unique physical characteristics,C/C has been replacing steel and other materials in a number of high-end applications such as aircraft and racing car brakes .rocket nozzles and heatshields for re-entry vehicles. The major application for C/C complsltes is in aircraft brakes .accounting for between 60 and 70% of the total volume. The aircraft brake market is valued at nearly $ 800 million annually of which C/C material currently controls nearly 25%,and is expected to double by the year 2000,to approximately 50% of overall aircraft brake production. Once its cost-effectiveness is improved significantly, C/C technology can be used in any application requiring a high strength to mass ratio and/or high thermal/electric conductance.更多还原
