【Abstract】 The animal mtDNA analysis had been widely used in gene engineering, animal evolution, parentage determination, genetic structure analysis and relationship with animal production performance etc. Because of its abundant polymorphism, constant size, frequent ribonucleotide substitution, maternal inheritance, nonuniformity of codon, rather economic gene arrangement and high similarity, this review provided an important theoretical and practical significance for the utilization of mtDNA in the research fields of animal genetics and breeding.\;更多还原
