【Abstract】 Virtual reality (VR) is a new developed high technology,it allows a user to navigate and interact with a three dimensional and dynamic simulation of a real or fictitious world. Virtual manufacturing (VM) is the development of VR and computer simulation in the field of manufacturing. It aims at integrating diverse manufacturing related technologies under a common umbrella, by means of VR technology. In this paper, the definition, characteristics and architecture for virtual manufacturing systems are discussed. Some examples of application of VM systems are presented.更多还原
