【Abstract】 Effect of specimen geometry on fracture toughness is investigated based on the local approach for the welded joints of pipeline steel.The Weibull stress σ w emerges as a probabilistic fracture parameter to define the condition leading material failure.Unstable crack propagation occurs at a critical value of σ w .The fracture behavior for the double edge notched tension specimen is transferred effectively from the fracture toughness test of the standard 3 point bend specimen using the local approach.It has been shown that the Weibull stress σ w is suitable to describe the fracture behavior of material.更多还原
