Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Gene and Hypertensive Cerebral Apoplexy
【Abstract】 The human angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)gene is a candidate genetic locus for hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke, ect because of the importance of the renin angiotensin system (RAS) to the development of cardiovascular disease. The associations between ACE gene insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism and hypertensive cerebrovascular disease have been recently investigated. This review summarizes the results from these studies using a molecular biological technique of the amplification fragment length polymorphism.
