The armature-reaction in a sensorless brushless DC(SLBLDC) motor causes detection error of rotor position and consequently leads to advanced or lagged commutation. This paper documents the derivations, finite element method based simulations, and analyses for the position error and commutation angle, presents a compensation circuit, and verifies with experimental results.
