【Abstract】 In this paper we present a new distributed authentication based on public key cryptography within the Kerberos authentication scheme. By distributing most of the authentication workload away from the Key Distributed Centers (KDC) and to communicating parties, significant enhancements to security and scalability can be achieved as compared to Kerberos V5.
