【Abstract】 During the total solar eclipse of 1997 March 9, polarimetric observation of the corona was made using a CCD camera with a polarizing plate NH 42 and a filter H8 at Mohe, Heilongjian province. A set of CCD coronal images and a series of weakened solar disk images with polarization position angles of 0°, 120°and 240°were processed with computer. The absolute brightness and polarization degree of the corona were obtained for the range 1.6-3.2 R . The corona was of the minimum type, but did not show east-west or south-north symmetry. Its outer part was brighter than, and the polarization degrees also differed from what one would expect from the van de Hulst model. This could be accounted for by the presence of irregular structure in portions some of the corona.更多还原
