【Abstract】 Comparison with steel M2,The silicon content of the new type high speed steel M2Si decreased to 1.0% and the carbon content decreased to 0.55%. With no carbide segregation and coarse carbide the surface and core hardness of the new steel quenched and tempered after carburizing were more then 6768 HRC and 55 HRC respectively.
