【Abstract】 The Lowry method for protein determination usually incorporates a 30 _ minute standing period to allow full color development after the addition of Folin reagent below 30. The addition of dithiothreitol(DTT), as suggested by Larson, reduces the standing time and enhances the sensitivity as well. However, the high price of DTT is a drawback. In this paper, authors propose the substitution of DTT by a cheap reagent, sodium dithionite. Thus, the determination of proteins can be not only rapid and sensitive, but also cheap.更多还原
