【Abstract】 In this paper, the author explores the significance and value of connotation in poetry translation and thinks that in poetic translation, the most significant and the most obscure to handle is not the denotation of a word, but its connotation. The emotion, mood, style, metaphoric implication, and rhythmic beauty in the translated version should be similar or equal to the original.
