【Abstract】 3. 4-methylenedioxyphenol formate is an important fine chemical, which can be used as the starting material or intermediate for production of synthetic perfume, antibacterial agent, antifungal agent and some medicines against cancer and hypertension. A convenient synthetic method for such a formate is reported here from piperonal via Baeyer Villiger Oxidation with a yield greater than 90%.
