【Abstract】 There has been much controversy about "fan xun" or "the explanation Of the sense of a Chinese word by using its antonym". This paper renames it as "homographic antonymy", redefines its basic implication, makes an in-depth analysis of the various causes for its inception, and gives some original ideas thereabout. It is concluded that the key to the origination of this phenomenon is attributed to the transfer of word meanings in the course of pragmatic usage.更多还原
