【Abstract】 This paper put forward a physical quantity for quantitatively describing the undishesmetrical character of various multi -- strand tundishes -- unsymmetrical degree Y. All of the tundisheswere divided into three types: the complete symmetrical. the common unsymmetrical and the particular unsymmetrical tundishes. Several parameters of configuration of tundish were discussed accordingto Y.The relationships bedween these parameters and unsymmetrical degree Y were gotten.
