Benthic aquatic insects were sampled by a qualitative collection method at 9 sites in the main waterbody of Mt. Lushan Nature Reserve during May and November of 1996. A total of 10598 individuals were collected, they belonged to 111 species of 73 genera in 46 families under 16 orders of aquatic insects and oligchaeta.
