【Abstract】 A spectrophotometic method for determination of trace amount of cobalt in vitamin B₁2 infection has been developed. The method is based on the quenching effect of cobalt on the fluorescence of phenanthroline due to the formation of complex Co（Ⅱ）- phen. The excitation and emission wavelegths were 272 and 366nm, respectively, The range of rectilinearity is 6¹20ng/mL for Co and the lower detection limit is 3ng/mL.
