【Abstract】 An analytical method for wind measurements by an atmospheric sounding mini--aircraft ispresented. The method is based on the fact that the spiral movement of mini-aircraft is controlled bythe automatic navigation system. The synthetic movement (i.e., ground velocity) is detetmined by a GPSreceiver onboard the mini--aircraft. Based on the general motion equations, the analytical formula areobtained to calculate the horizontal componments of the wind speed. Both theoretical error analysis andexprimental measurements in comparison with balloon and radar techniques show that the proposedanalytical method can provide accurate and high resolution profiles of wind velocity.更多还原
