试论地层学的新体系与建立新一代年代地层表

【摘要】 全球层型剖面和点(GSSP)应尽可能建在层序界面的整合部位,从而将地层的自然界线、层序界面和GSSP有机地结合起来,使年代地层界线可在野外识别和追索.层序地层可以做为岩石地层和年代地层的补充而独立存在,构成新的三重地层分类.地层界线的优化应尽可能与层序界面相结合,以使其具有更强的可操作性.随着层序地层学的发展及其在地层学理论和概念上取得的创新和突破,有可能在新的地层学体系指导下建立新一代年代地层表,从而更加客观地反映地质演化的阶段性和自然节律.

【Abstract】 A sequence boundary at the Permian Guadalupian/Lopingian boundary has been studied in South China with aid of high resolution conodont zones. The sequence boundary is proved to be dual in nature of synchronism and diachronism. A conceptual synchronous stratigraphic boundary, which corresponds to the sequence boundary dated at its conformable portion and was previously defined as the sequence chronostratigraphic boundary (SCB), is regarded as fundamental for the establishment of sequence chronostratigraphic framework. Analysis of sequence boundaries has led to the conclusion that sequence stratigraphy is a regional, transitional and independent stratigraphic category between the local lithostratigraphy and the global chronostratigraphy. Consequently, a new tripartite classification of stratigraphy is suggested. The importance of sequence boundary in stratigraphic subdivision, correlation and classification has been especially emphasized and can be used as an important reference for the global stratotype section and point (GSSP). Principles and methods in optimizing lithostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic boundaries are discussed. By integrating the virtues of sequence boundary and the GSSP, it has been proposed here that the GSSP is better to be established at conformable portion of the related sequence boundary. Such a boundary is easy to recognize and traceable in the field, and can also be detected by seismo_stratigraphic analysis. Finally, the possibility and an approach for the establishment of a new type chronostratigraphic scale is discussed.
