光纤激光器的发展及其在光通信网络中的应用
Development of Fiber Lasers and Their Applications in Optical Communication Network

【摘要】 光纤激光器是将掺杂了一些稀土元素离子的光纤作为增益介质,经过泵浦光吸收能量后产生激光的。光纤激光器有许多优点,如产生激光的阈值很小、能量转换效率高、所有元件不多、结构简单、光束质量好、体积小、容易集成。分析了光纤激光器的组成结构,阐述了不同类型布局的光纤激光器。首先,对稀土元素离子的发光性质进行了分析,讨论了以铥离子为代表的三能级系统,阐述了掺铥光纤激光器的特点,以及其在医疗和生命科学领域的应用。其次,对以铒离子为代表的四能级系统进行了阐述,讨论了掺铒光纤激光器在光纤通信网络中的应用。然后,对现有的长途光纤传输网络技术进行了分析,讨论了掺铒光纤放大器在光纤通信网络中的作用及地位。最后指出了光纤激光器在未来的发展方向。
【Abstract】 Fiber laser is a fiber doped with some rare earth element ions as a gain medium,which generates laser energy after being absorbed by pump light.Fiber laser has many advantages,such as a small threshold for generating laser,high energy conversion efficiency,few components,simple struct ure,good beam quality,small size,and easy integration.This paper analyzes the composition and structure of fiber lasers,and elaborates on different types of fiber lasers with different layouts.The luminescence properties of rare earth element ions are analyzed,and three-level systems represented by thulium ions are discussed.The characteristics of thulium doped fiber lasers and their applications in medical and life sciences are elaborated.The four level system represented by erbium ions is elaborated,and the application of erbium-doped fiber lasers in fiber optical communication network is discussed.An analysis is conducted on existing long-distance fiber optical transmission network technologies,and the role and status of erbiumdoped fiber amplifiers in fiber optical communication networks are discussed.Finally,the future development direction of fiber laser is pointed out.
