超疏/超亲Janus止血纱布的制备与应用

【摘要】 当创伤发生时最基本的急救处理是使用纱布对伤口进行包扎,然而纱布对血液过量地吸收导致患者失血过多这一问题却被长期忽视。表面浸润性是材料的重要性质,超亲水材料在医疗卫生领域随处可见,而超疏水材料已被报道可应用于防生物污染、药物释放、细胞检测等生物医疗领域。本文通过石蜡这一被FDA认证的原料改性传统纱布,制备了超疏血纱布,并将其与传统纱布复合形成双层Janus纱布结构,即一层超亲水纱布、一层超疏水纱布。利用超亲水纱布对血液中水的吸收促进血液凝固、超疏水纱布产生负压阻止血液过多地浸润纱布,从而达到有效止血和降低失血量的目的。老鼠背部肌肉损伤模型、肝损伤模型、股动脉损伤模型实验结果表明,超疏水/亲水纱布复合使用比常规使用可保证透气性同时降低失血量达50%以上;而老鼠颈动脉损伤模型实验表明,存活时间延长约40%,有望为伤势较重的伤员或病患争取更多抢救时间,挽救更多生命。这一发现为新型止血材料提供了新的设计思路。

【Abstract】 Hemostatic fabrics are most commonly used in baseline emergency treatment,however, the unnecessary blood loss due to the excessive blood absorption by traditional superhydrophilic fabrics is overlooked. The special wettability of cotton gauze plays an important role in stopping bleeding. To date, surfaces with special wettability including superhydrophilicity, superhydrophobicity, superoleophobicity and so on, have shown many attractive applications in self-cleaning, antifouling, water collection, oil/water separation and so forth. Besides water, the wetting behaviors of many other liquids on the surfaces with special wettability have drawn increasing attention recently[1]. Herein, for the first time, superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic Janus fabrics(superhydrophobic on one side and superhydrophilic on the other) are proposed[2]:the superhydrophilic part absorbs water in the blood to expedite the clotting while the superhydrophobic part prevents blood from further permeating. Compared with the common counterparts, effective bleeding control with reducing blood loss more than50% can be achieved while the breathability largely remained by using Janus fabrics.The proposed prototypes could even prolong the survival time in the rat model with serious bleeding. This strategy for reducing blood loss via simply tuning wettability is promising for the practical applications, and opens a promising route for the design of novel hemostatic materials.
