灞河组生物地层学研究新进展

【摘要】 蓝田地区以其发育的晚新生代地层及大量的哺乳动物化石引起了越来越广泛的关注。中—芬合作于1997~1998年度重新研究灞河组,新发现16个化石层位及大量哺乳动物化石。初步研究结果显示,灞河组可能包括了中新世晚期相当于Vallesian期及Turolian期的沉积。灞河组下部Progonomys cathalai、Cricetulodon sp.、Myocricetodon sp.等小哺乳动物化石在中国被首次发现,为欧亚大陆生物地层对比提供了直接依据。灞河组上部化石组成可与府谷喇嘛沟动物群对比,可能相当于Turolian期。
【Abstract】 After about 30 years interval,more than 500 pieces of fossils were newly discovered from Bahe Formation during last two field seasons by the Sino-Finland cooperation team.Based on detail stratigraphic correlation,all 35 fossil localities and 16 mammalian fossil levels have been calibrated in synthetic profiles.Hence,the more precise classification and correlation become possible.Biostratigraphically,the most important findings are Progonomys cathalai,Cricetulodon sp.,Myocricetodon sp.etc.coexisted with Hipparion from the Loc.12 and Loc.19 which strongly suggest Vallesian stage.These small mammal fossils are first found in China and can be used to correlate directly between Chinese and European Vallesian stage.Large mammals from the upper part of Bahe formation show great similarity with the Lamagou fauna of Fugu,which might be correlated with MN12 as Xue et al.suggested.Therefore,the fossils from Bahe Formation can be roughly correlated,at least,with part of Vallesian and Turolian stages of the Europe and west Asian.
