【摘要】 Introduction: In the recent decade, Cryptococcus and cryptococcosis continues to be a hot clinical issue and many progresses have been made in this area, including CRAG LFA tests as a potent diagnostic tool, the updated clinical guideline(2010 version), the global consensus made on multi-locus sequence typing scheme and the recent debates on the speciation within Cryptococcus gattii/Cryptococcus neoformans species complex. The global trend also witnessed that developing countries, such as China, India, and South Africa, come to play more important roles. This study presents a general overview and the changing trend of research of Cryptococcus and cryptococcosis during recent decade using bibliometric indicators. Methods: The data for this study, dating between 2007 and 2018, was extracted from Science Citation Index Expended database of Web of Science. All the information was exported in excel for data analysis. Additionally, collaboration and word co-occurrence networks were generated using VOSviewer. Results: The total number of documents published between 2007–2018 was 2770, of which authors from the U.S.A published the most papers(n=1192, 43.03%), while China occupied the second position(n=374, 13.50%).The growth trend of Chinese publications is significantly faster than that of the U.S.A(p<0.05). However, compared with U.S.A.(average IF=4.42, average citation=22.61, H-index=69), the study quality of Chinese publications still needs to be improved(average IF=2.55, average citation=10.06, H-index=31). Duke University(n=207), University Sydney(n=110) and Albert Einstein Coll Med(n=103) produced the highest number of papers in this field. While in China, Second Military Medical University(n=51) played the most important role, followed by Chinese Academic of Science(n=28) and Fudan University(n=28). Casadevall A(n=108, from U.S.A.), Heitman J(n=100, from U.S.A.) and Hagen F(n=59, from the Netherlands) are the most active researchers in the world. While Liao WQ(n=33) and Pan WH(n=20) are the most important Chinese researchers.Bibliometric mapping shows studies of recent decade can be categorized into three clusters: pathogenic mechanism, clinical study and molecular epidemiology, in which the area of clinical study is the most active. Conclusion: In conclusion, although the U.S.A. produced the highest number and quality of researches in Cryptococcus and cryptococcosis in recent decade, China shows a more active pattern of publication, with continually growing trend in publication quantity and quality.
