The correlation of CT measurements and severity of emphysema in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

【摘要】 Objective:To explore the correlation of CT measurements and severity of emphysema in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.Methods:The study population included 50 patients with mildsevere COPD in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2017 were selected,and 50 cases of healthy people were randomly selected as control group.They all underwent CT with the measurement of lung capacity,emphysema,pulmonary emphysema capacity index and the COPD group also underwentMDCT with 3D postprocessing at full expiration and full inspiration.Results:The lung capacity,emphysema,pulmonary emphysema capacity index of the COPD group were all significantly higher than the control group(all P<0.05).The differences between patients with different degrees in the COPD group were all significantly(all P<0.05).Fifth percentile and 15th percentile of the lung attenuation distribution curve at both full inspiration and full expiration correlated well with FEV(1)/FVC and diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide as a percentage of predicted value but not well with FEV(1)as a percentage of predicted value regardless of FEV(1).Conclusion:The CT quantitative indicators can monitor development of emphysema,and correlation between CT measurements and severity of emphysema is observed.Quantitative computed tomography(QCT)at expiration better reflect pulmonary function abnormalities in patients with severe COPD.Quantitative computed tomography at inspiration better reflect pulmonary function abnormalities in patients with mild or moderate COPD.
